Angela joined the Heywood Team in fall of 2015 and currently works as an RN in Surgical Services! Here is just a little about what her colleagues had to say about her!
Angela was scheduled to go home at 1pm, but shortly before the end of her shift, the OR charge nurse was notified that a patient needed to have an urgent c-section. Angela went upstairs to help set up for the case in an effort to expedite care for this patient. While interviewing the patient she learned that the patient’s husband would not be able to be present for the birth of their child. The patient was quite distressed. Angela made childcare arrangements for her own kids and stayed beyond her shift to be the support person for the patient. She provided reassurance, comfort and took pictures per patient’s request for the entire duration of the case.
Angela was surprised in the OR by the Patient Satisfaction Committee, Senior Team, Managers, Directors and members of her department Monday, April 23rd.
Her exceptional service was recognized with a variety of Heywood gift items, cake, and even a premium reserved parking spot for the month!
