School Based Health Centers
Heywood operates two School Based Health Centers located in Athol & Winchendon. Our Nurse Practitioners offer comprehensive medical and behavioral health services and collaborate with the school nursing team.
Heywood's School Based Health Centers (SBHC) are a hybrid model that offer onsite and
virtual healthcare services to students grades K-12 at select school districts. We support a
whole-child approach to wellness by a care team that includes Nurse Practitioners, Behavioral Health Clinicians, and Community Health Workers.
Telemedicine
Telemedicine appointments are available to students by connecting them to a Nurse Practitioner through the use of a telehealth cart located in a participating school.
