
Newborn and Postpartum Care Class
Gain knowledge and confidence in caring for your newborn baby! This class is perfect for first time parents and experienced parents looking for a refresher on what to expect during the first three months with a new baby.
The class will cover:
- Caring for yourself in the postpartum period
- Normal newborn behaviors and characteristics
- Soothing techniques
- Newborn feeding option
- Bathing and diapering
- The period of PURPLE crying
- Safe Sleep
- When to call the doctor
The class is taught by the LaChance Maternity Center’s very own RN, Kate L. The cost is $30.00 and covers one virtual session. Partners are encouraged to participate!
Prenatal Breastfeeding Class
Gain knowledge and confidence to prepare you for your breastfeeding journey!
The class will cover:
- Benefits of breastfeeding
- Positioning and latching
- Hunger cues, when to feed baby and how to know if they are getting enough milk
- Common complications
- Pumping and breastmilk storage
- How to continue breastfeeding if you plan to return to work
The class is taught by the LaChance Maternity Center’s very own Internationally Board-Certified Lactation Consultant and RN, Yumi W. The cost is $30.00 and covers one virtual session and course materials. Partners are encouraged to participate!
Family and Friends CPR – Saturday Class
Before your baby arrives, include this video-based, instructor-led course in your safety planning.
You will learn:
- Adult and child CPR and AED use
- Infant CPR
- How to relieve choking in adults, children and infants
The class is taught by the Heywood Health Center for Women’s very own CPR Instructor and CMA, Erica D.
The cost is $30.00 per person or $50.00 per couple. Recommended for parents, grandparents, and anyone caring for an infant or toddler.
