Dry needling is a treatment that uses small therapeutic needles to stimulate a healing response in painful musculoskeletal injuries/conditions.
When dry needling is applied to your muscles and tissue, it can decrease tightness, increase blood flow, and reduce local and referred pain. If dry needling is recommended by your provider, or by the physical therapist doing your evaluation, a list of contra-indications and precautions will be reviewed prior to initiating any treatment.
Dry needling is very safe with a very low risk of infection or complications when applied by a licensed physical therapist.
Many people have a significant positive response in as little as 2-3 sessions.
