Vice President, Ancillary Services & CIO
Carol F. Roosa serves as Vice President of Ancillary Services and Chief Information Officer at Heywood Healthcare. A successful information technology senior leader, Ms. Roosa brings extensive executive and hands-on experience to provide high quality technology solutions to support the delivery of patient care. As Chief Information Officer, Ms. Roosa is responsible for establishing and executing the Heywood’s information technology strategy to support the delivery of exceptional patient care in the community. Under her direction, Heywood Healthcare continues to expand its electronic medical records system throughout its network of facilities and providers. Ms. Roosa is currently engaged in a major, multi-year collaboration with hospitals throughout the state to implement a new electronic medical record system.
In the role of Vice President of Ancillary Services, Ms. Roosa oversees operations for Clinical Engineering, Environmental Services, Laboratory Services and Imaging and Radiology for Heywood Healthcare.
Ms. Roosa previously served as the Chief Information Officer at Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough, New Hampshire before joining Heywood Healthcare in 2012. Her thirty year career in information technology includes the role of Director of Business and Publishing Applications at Ottaway Newspapers, the local media division of Dow Jones, where she managed multi-million dollar technology projects to completion - on schedule and on budget. Ms. Roosa’s also served on the Board of Directors for the New Hampshire Health Information Organization, representing critical access hospitals in the state of New Hampshire.
Ms. Roosa holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Management Information Systems from Pace University. Ms. Roosa was named to Becker’s Healthcare’s 100 Community Hospital CIOs to Know in 2017 in recognition of her achievements in long-term technology strategy, EMR implementation and support, telehealth programs, health information exchanges, cybersecurity and more. She is a member of the CHIME organization (College of Healthcare Information Management Executives).
