Heywood President and CEO Announces He Is Leaving Heywood Hospital
Daniel P. Moen, President and CEO of Heywood Hospital since 1990 announced his resignation last evening (Tuesday, November 9) to his Board of Trustees. He informed the group that he has accepted the position of President and CEO of Sisters of Providence Health System, based in Springfield, Mass.
In a written announcement to Heywood’s physicians and staff, Moen said “It has been an honor to be Heywood’s President and CEO. I am proud of the growth Heywood has achieved over the past 20 years in increasing our service for the community,” he said.
He noted that the opening of Heywood’s new building is “a cause for celebration and an exciting time for the entire community. This new building will help us provide a whole new experience for our patients and strengthen Heywood Hospital for years to come.”
Current Chairman of the Board of Heywood, Dr. Daniel Asquino, who is also President of Mount Wachusett Community College extended his appreciation for Dan’s years of service and for the advances that have been made during his tenure. “On behalf of the entire Board, we thank Dan for all of his efforts and wish him the best in his new position.”
Moen is expected to remain in the position at Heywood for the next several weeks, while the Board of Trustees decided on interim leadership and begins the search for a new President and CEO.
