Gardner, MA, November 13, 2023 – The Heywood Healthcare staff and community came together on Saturday, October 28th, for the 10th annual Heywood Healthcare Healthy Harvest 5K, a celebration of health, community engagement, and behavioral well-being. With 150 participants, the event raised $6,000 to support the reopening of Heywood Hospital’s Inpatient Mental Health Unit.
Thanks to the generous support of underwriters, including the Montachusett Suicide Prevention Taskforce, Harper Grace Scholarship Fund, Coverys, and The Nottleson Family, all expenses were covered. In-kind contributions from Cibo Vita, Coutu General Contracting, Gardner High School Football Team, Gardner DPW, Masters of Music DJ Services, and Red Apple Farm added to the success of the day.
"We are grateful for the overwhelming community support and the dedication of our underwriters. The $6,000 raised will make a meaningful contribution to the reopening of the Mental Health Unit, reinforcing our commitment to the well-being of our community," said Selena Johnson, Director of Community Investment at Heywood Healthcare.
