October 1, 2019

Heywood Healthcare honored 169 employees totaling 2,545 years of service on September 26th during its annual Service Awards recognition dinner.

"We love to celebrate longevity and achievement because it is part of the culture. The staggering number of years of service represents many lifetimes spent caring for those in our community," said Heywood Healthcare President and CEO Win Brown. "Our employees strive to treat each patient with care, compassion and give so much of themselves to our communities, often dedicating decades of their lives to healthcare. They deserve a night dedicated to recognizing their important contributions."

Ann McInerney celebrated 50 years while Sandra White, Elizabeth Turczynski, and Paula Whitaker received recognition for 45 years of service to Heywood and Athol Hospitals, the Winchendon Health Center, Heywood Rehabilitation Center and Heywood Medical Group.

The Daniel P. Moen Employee Excellence Award is also presented annually by Heywood Hospital to an anniversary employee who most closely exemplifies the legacy of past president Dan Moen's administration. This year's recipient was Erica Dack, a Medical Assistant in the Heywood Health Center for Women practice.  Erica also celebrated her 20-year anniversary.

Erica plays an active role in both Heywood Medical Group and Heywood Healthcare. As the BLS trainer for HMG, she holds monthly classes for providers and colleagues, and sometimes even holds special sessions at odd hours to accommodate physicians and also plays an active role on the President's Advisory Council, resulting in the development of many fun and engaging events, such as dodge-ball tournaments and employee bus trips.

We thank and congratulate those employees for their tireless dedication to serving those in our communities, with care and compassion.
