The Heywood Healthy Harvest 5K will run from Saturday October 31st through the end of day, Sunday November 1st, in an alternate, competitive (timed) or non-competitive format.
By extending the event to two days, participants are able to run or walk (outdoors or on a treadmill) or to cycle outdoors or on a Peloton.
Our established 3.1 mile family-friendly scenic course is a suggested and available route option starting and ending at Heywood Hospital. However, participants can select any route they wish. For competitive participants, the route must meet 5k (3.1 mile) criteria.
Past year’s Healthy Harvest 5K proceeds have enabled us to provide a broad range of support for the expansion of mental wellness and suicide prevention within our communities. We have also initiated Handle With Care, focused on children’s mental health and well-being following a traumatic event.
Proceeds from this year’s event will be directed towards resources to support the social and emotional health of our region’s school aged youth, as they face unprecedented challenges with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
We invite you to join in our efforts by supporting this important initiative.
