The Dana Day Treatment Center at Quabbin Retreat in Petersham is part of the Heywood Healthcare family and is a drug and alcohol treatment facility that works with patients struggling with various types of addictions including alcohol, heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, nicotine, gambling and video gaming. At the Dana Day Treatment Center, we provide the resources, tools, and staff to support our patients in their recovery journey and also provide support to our patients’ families because we know that families are impacted by addiction as well.

Through our Care Coordinator’s office, we can connect you with support services in your area while you are working with our clinical staff to stabilize your recovery and gain skills and tools to complete your pregnancy successfully and build a safe and stable environment for you and your baby.
Accreditation and Licensing
Dana Day Treatment Center is a Joint Commission Accredited healthcare program, and is licensed by the Massachusetts Bureau of Substance Abuse Services through the Department of Public Health - meaning we put the needs and comforts of our patients first always. Safety and quality of care are our priorities. We meet and exceed rigorous performance standards with our staff, while also providing a comfortable, clean day treatment facility.
Our Staff & Credentials
Our evidence-based addiction treatment program is delivered by our clinical team of master’s level therapists and skilled addiction counselors. In addition, we provide comprehensive care coordination to connect you to additional services available from doctors, psychiatrists, and other medical professionals within the Heywood Healthcare family. Not only does our team have the experience and education needed to effectively treat the disease of addiction, we also understand that addiction treatment is not a one-size-fits-all concept. Therefore, we tailor our evidence based treatment program to make it work for you, addressing any underlying issues you may have that could be fueling your addiction.
Morgan Ban-Draoi, MA, CAGS, LMHC, LADC1
Morgan is Program Manager for the Dana Day-Treatment Center at the Quabbin Retreat in Petersham where she has worked since 2017. She is a licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island, a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) in Massachusetts and she holds a certification as a Problem Gambling Specialist (MA PGS) in Massachusetts as well. Morgan has worked as Clinical Supervisor for bereavement staff at Hope Hospice in Providence (formerly Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island), and more recently, for the Center for Human Development in Greenfield. Morgan received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the State University of New York at Geneseo and her Master’s Degree in Holistic Counseling and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Mental Health from Salve Regina University in Newport, RI. Morgan has made her home in Central Massachusetts for the past eleven years.
Teresa Connors-MacMillan, LMHC, ATR-BC
Terri joined the Dana Day Treatment Center in March 2020. She is licensed as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Massachusetts, and is also licensed as a Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC). One focus of her work is how the creative process can address what is difficult to explain in words, using it to explore internal and external experiences for the purpose of increased awareness and healing. Terri has worked in clinical roles serving children and adults in schools, hospitals and residential programs, and has provided clinical instruction in Counseling and Art Therapy at Springfield College. She received her Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy from Lesley University.
Shannon Hunnewell, BS, LSWA
Shannon is Care Coordinator and Addiction Counselor at the Dana Day-Treatment Center at the Quabbin Retreat where she has worked for the past year. Shannon joined the Heywood Healthcare Family in 2005 as a Mental Health Counselor and transferred to the Quabbin Retreat in 2019. Shannon is a Licensed Social Worker Associate (LSWA) and she coordinates aftercare services for clients and facilitates individual and group sessions. Shannon received her Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Psychology (dual major) at Keene State College in N.H.
Paula is the Administrative Coordinator at the Dana Day Treatment Center. An experienced administrator and practice manager, Paula has worked for the Heywood Healthcare family for over 24 years, and has been at Quabbin Retreat since 2019. Paula serves as “the face of Quabbin” greeting patients, families and visitors with her enthusiastic, empathetic presence, putting everyone immediately at ease. Paula ensures efficient program workflow, schedules intakes and appointments, as well as managing records and program schedules.
