Safe. Care. Here

Heywood Healthcare is committed to
you and your Safety.

Telehealth
We are using televisits for pre-admission visits. This platform provides a secure way to consult with a healthcare provider while in the comfort of your home.

Symptom Check
We check with every patient three times before any medical appointment to confirm they are not experiencing symptoms of COVID19.

Visitor Policy
For your safety and for the safety of our staff, we continue to enforce our strict visitation policy. If you need special accommodations, please let your physician or preadmission nurse know in advance of your appointment.

Enhanced Cleaning & Disinfection
We’ve enhanced our cleaning standards and increased the frequency of cleaning. We use disinfectants approved for removing coronaviruses to clean and disinfect exam rooms, high-touch areas and common spaces.

Hand Hygiene
Hand hygiene is the foundation of our safety plan. Everyone is asked to foam in as they enter and exit the hospital. Additionally, hand hygiene products are readily accessible for everyone to use throughout our facilities.

Facility Changes
Our facilities have been carefully adapted to support physical distancing and safe pedestrian traffic flow. This includes floor decals to identify where you should stand at check in points and chairs have been rearranged.

Waiting Room Alternatives
We are limiting the use of the waiting rooms to adhere to social distancing requirements. If your surgical room is not ready upon your arrival, you might be asked to wait in your car until a room becomes available.

Separate Care Locations
Patients with symptoms or diagnosis of COVID19 are cared for in negative pressure rooms. To date, we have been able to keep the surgical inpatient unit free of COVID19.

Staff Precautions
Before every shift, staff must confirm they do not have any symptoms associated with COVID19. Any staff with symptoms cannot return until evaluated and fully recovered.

Personal Protective Equipment
We are diligently working to ensure our staff have sufficient quantities of appropriate PPE. Our staff follow strict guidance from the Center for Disease Control regarding appropriate usage.

Masks for Everyone
All staff are required to wear masks at all times. Patients and visitors are required to wear a face covering at all times. A mask will be provided to anyone who arrives without one.

COVID19 Trends
We are continuously monitoring COVID19 rates in our region and state. We have consistently seen fewer cases than other areas in the state, which are also decreasing.

Testing Prior to Surgery
All patients having surgical, endoscopic or certain pain procedures are tested for COVID19 prior to their procedure.

Infection Control
Our Infection Control Department is led by an infectious disease physician and expert nursing director. They have implemented evidence-based practices and policies to further reduce the spread of infection and appropriately care for the patients with suspected or confirmed COVID19.
