Chief Change Agent
Rebecca J. Bialecki, BSN, PhD leads strategic projects for Heywood Healthcare as Vice President for Community Health Initiatives and Chief Agent of Change. Her key roles include leading the development of the Quabbin Retreat in Petersham, coordinating the health system’s multi-million dollar CHART grant projects and helping spearhead Athol Hospital’s planning, fundraising and implementation of a new Emergency Department and medical office building.
A well-known voice and advocate for improving the overall health of the North Quabbin region’s families, Ms. Bialecki is a long-time community leader and former Athol Hospital and Heywood Healthcare Trustee. Upon joining the senior leadership team at Heywood Healthcare in 2014, she added a new level of innovative programs and services affecting the social determinants of health by affiliating the North Quabbin Community Coalition – an organization she led for 14 years.
Ms. Bialecki previously served as Director of Family Support Programs for Community Action and Residential Treatment Director for the Devereux Foundation.
Ms. Bialecki received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from American International College and holds a PhD in Psychology from Harvard University.
With her vision and voice for the under-served and at-risk populations, she is on the Board of Directors of North Quabbin Community Coalition, Athol Credit Union and serves on the Athol Board of Selectmen. She has been recognized for Innovation by the New England Rural Health Round Table and for her dedication to community advocacy by the Greater Athol Advocates for Families with Special Needs.
