Speech and Language Pathology
"To optimize communication and swallowing abilities that may enhance one's quality of life and/or interpersonal effectiveness."

  • Evaluation of communication or swallowing disorders. These may be developmental in nature, or acquired secondary to illness, neurological disorder or trauma, and may occur in children or adults.
  • Treatment to address the dificulties identified, including disorders involving verbal or written language, articulation, oral motor strength and functioning, voice, pragmatics, fluency, and swallowing.
  • Counseling andeducation to improve the patient's understanding of the nature of the disorder, as well as the reason and rationale for the treatment protocol.

Audiology
"To identify and measure hearing loss and help minimize the impact of the loss on an individual's ability to function and succeed in his/her everyday life."
  • Newborn infant hearing screening
  • Diagnostic audiometry, including speech and pure tone testing and tympanometry
  • Pediatric Assessment including Visual Reinforcement and Conditioned Play Audiometry
  • Patient counseling and education relative to amplification and hearing conservation
  • Dispensing and repairing of hearing aids
