Hand Therapy Program
The Hand Therapy Program at Heywood Rehab can treat disorders of the hand due to: fractures, post-surgical procedures, tendonitis, arthritis, amputations, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, burns and wounds. Some of these treatment procedures include splinting, range of motion strengthening, scar management, wound care, Electrical Modalities, joint protection and patient education.
Falls Prevention Program
The Falls Prevention Program is designed to assist in the treatment of Gait and balance disorders. Some of these treatments can include balance activities, Gait training/mobility devices, home exercise programs, home safety assessments and community mobility training.
Low Vision Program
Our Low Vision Program assists patients diagnosed with Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy and CVA (Stroke). We can assist patients with magnification systems, lighting systems, adaptive equipment and training in daily activities such as reading, writing, financial management, household chores and community activities.
Neurological Rehabilitation Program
Heywood Rehab's Neurological Rehab Program is designed for individuals diagnosed with illnesses and injuries like CVA (Stroke), Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and Traumatic Brain Injury. Our treatments include movement re-education, splinting, cognitive training, functional mobility training, self-care training and daily household chores.
Pediatric Occupational Therapy Program
The Pediatric OT Program pairs our experienced and caring staff with children ages 3 and older to work on skill building in areas like handwriting, gross and fine motor skills, visual perceptual skills and other activities that are part of daily life. These services can be offered in conjunction with therapies through the child's school or on their own.
