Among Top Nursing Homes in the Nation by U.S. News
Gardner, MA – The Transitional Care Center (TCC) at Heywood Hospital has been included in the 2012 U.S. News Honor Roll, among the Best Nursing Homes in the nation. The TCC at Heywood earned this recognition by achieving a perfect five-star rating consistently for four straight quarters from the Federal Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS).
“This national recognition is a testament to the level of care provided by Heywood Hospital and our staff at the TCC. Their attention to patient needs and clinical excellence has earned this coveted spot among a handful of long-term nursing facilities in the country,” said Heywood President and CEO Win Brown. “I am extremely proud of the efforts shown by the TCC and our entire staff. Our dedicated team is committed to providing the highest quality healthcare services to our patients in the TCC and throughout our hospital.”
The criteria for judgment included all three areas of measure used by CMS to evaluate facilities - health inspections, nurse staffing and quality of care. Of the 15,500 nursing and rehabilitation facilities surveyed by U.S. News, only 39 received the consistent five-star rating required to be ranked among the Best Nursing Homes.
