Heywood's policy is to contact patients or family members for permission before releasing information about patients.  During normal working hours, call the Office of Community Relations at (978) 630-6248.  After hours, please contact the Switchboard Operator at (978) 632-3420 and ask to speak with the Nursing Supervisor.
 

  

   

  

New Specialist Practicing at Heywood Wound Center

Dr. Anthony Babigian, foot specialist, has joined an interdisciplinary team of physicians at

Heywood Hospital’s Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine, according to Program

Director Jessica Colbry.

 Dr. Babigian has 17 years of experience in foot care including a specialized focus in surgery, diabetic limb salvage and wound care.

 “We are very pleased to have Dr. Babigian join our medical staff. Already both he and Medical Director Dr. Robert Shepherd are reaching out to provide information to physicians about the Center’s unique capabilities and comprehensive wound services that we can provide patients,” said Colbry. “The Wound Center is a one- of- a- kind service in the region for patients who typically suffer from non-healing wounds,” she added.

The Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at Heywood provides healing assistance for wounds caused by circulatory problems, diabetes, burns and surgical wounds by utilizing state-of-the-art technology and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

In addition to treating patients at Heywood’s Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine, Dr. Babigian also cares for patients at the Family Foot Care Center with Dr. Paula Fontaine in Westminster, MA.

Dr. Babigian earned a bachelor of sciences degree from Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont. He earned his medical degree from Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr Babigian completed his surgical residency at Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Stratford, New Jersey where he served as Chief Resident in his second year. During his training he received extensive experience in foot surgery and reconstruction techniques.

Dr. Babigian is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.
