Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders detecting theraputic incompatibilites. Complies with the state and federal drug laws as regulated by the State Board of Pharmacy, the Drug Enforcement Agency anf the Department of Public Health. Provides pharmacologic information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals. Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technician's workflow: verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals: performing order entry, charges and inspections. Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies advising interventions. Dispenses medications by compounding packaging and labeling pharmaceuticals. Prepares compounded sterile products and chemotherapy within a USP 797 compliant clean room.
Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy. Currently licensed or license eligible in Massachusetts. Health system experience preferred. Meditech knowledge helpful. Excellent verbal and oral communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, set priorities, and make critical decisions. Ability to excercise sound professional judgement. Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule. Ability to meet the pharmaceutical care needs of neonatl, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric, psychiatric, oncology, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing patients.
