| STROKE CLUB |
The Stroke Club is designed to aid individuals in the successful rehabilitation of those effected by a stroke and to provide support and education not only to the individual, but the family members as well. The group meets on the third Thursday of every month from 2:30pm - 4:00pm in the Heywood Hospital Dining Room. | BREAST CANCER SUPPORT GROUP |
The Breast Cancer Support Group meets the 2nd week of the month, alternating Tuesday and Saturday, at 7:00pm at 250 Smith Street, Gardner, MA. Call Paula D'Entremont at (978) 632-5491 for more information.

| CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP FOR THE CANCER PATIENT |
Any caregiver of a cancer patient that needs support will be welcome. Meetings will be held on the last Wednesday of every month at 3:00pm. Location will vary...please call ahead for the location. The first meeting is scheduled for February 22, 2006 at 3:00pm in the Hospital Aid Conference Room. There is no cost to attend this group. It will be facilitated by Brenda Mildish, LSW Medical Social Worker. If you have any questions, please call Brenda at 978/630-6517.

| DIABETIC SUPPORT GROUP |
The Diabetic Support Group is a multi-purpose support program designed to expand participants' diabetes knowledge and help with daily coping, as well as provide participants with the opportunity to share ideas/experiences with other diabetics. The group meets monthly (September - June)on Mondays from 6:30pm - 7:30pm or Wednesdays from 2:00pm - 3:00pm in the Heywood Hospital Dining Room. | PARKINSON'S SUPPORT GROUP |
When someone is diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease there are many concerns for the patient and his or her family and friends. This support group was developed to aide these individuals to be more effective in their plan or care and to enable a better understanding of their disease. Meetings are held on the last Wednesday of each month in the Heywood Hospital Dining Room Conference Room B at 2:00pm. The meetings are facilitated by a Sixteen year Parkinson's pateint and a Licensed Social Worker. | AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY CANCER SUPPORT GROUP |
The Cancer Support Group is designed to provide support for patients and their families through participation in group discussion with people with similar life experiences. The group is co-sponsored by Heywood Hospital and the American Cancer Society. The group meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month from 7:00pm - 8:30pm in the Medical Arts Building Conference Room at Heywood Hospital. | DIABETES SELF-MANAGEMENT PROGRAM |
The Heywood Hospital Diabetes Self-Management Program meets the national standards for certification from the American Diabetes Association.
Program Goals: • Optimize diabetic care and treatment options • Promote participant lifestyle changes that enhance diabetes management • Improve the overall healthof the diabetic community • Meet the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education Program
Topics covered through individual appointments and group classes include: • Role of diet and nutrition in managing diabetes • Preventing long-term complications • Blood glucose monitoring • Medicines and insulin management • Psychological effects of diabetes • Physical activity/exercise
A physician referral is requires. Most insurance companies cover diabetic self-management training.

Heywood Diabetes Education & Support Group:
Will be holding a meeting on Wednesday, September 17th, from 2:00pm - 3:00pm in Dining Room B. Refreshments will be served.
The program is entitled "Making the most of your visit to the physicians'office". This program will be presented by Doug Miller, RN, Diabetes Educator. | BETTER BREATHERS CLUB |
The Better Breathers Club is designed to provide a source of ongoing education and support for individuals with breathing problems and lung disease, along with their families and friends. The topics of the meetings are suggested by the group members and are presented by a variety of guest speakers. The meetings are held in a relaxed atmosphere and conversation between group members on experiences or coping techniques is encouraged.
The group meets on the first Monday of every month (except for January, February, July, August & September) from 2:30pm - 3:30pm in the Heywood Hospital Dining Room Conference Room. The program is co-sponsored by the American Lung Association.

| SIBLING CLASSES |
The Sibling Class is intended to prepare children for the arrival of a new brother or sister. How babies are fed, diapered and cared for are some of the topics that are covered. Children are shown a brief movie and given a tour of the maternity center so they can see where mom and the new baby will be once he/she is born.
The class is held on the first Sunday of every other month from 1:00pm - 3:00pm. The cost of the class is $15.00.

| EARLY PREGNANCY CLASS |
Experiencing pregnancy is most often exciting, but can also be stressful. Knowing what to expect throughout the course of your pregnancy can often relieve many of the fears that one can have. To learn more about the pregnancy experience, you may sign up for the "Early Pregnancy Class", the cost of the class is $15.00.

The Breastfeeding Class is designed to provide you with the information and techniques to ensure a successful and rewarding breastfeeding experience. Topics include health benefits of breastfeeding for you and your baby, positioning, how to know if your baby is getting enough milk, expression and storage of milk, and how to continue breastfeeding if you are returning to work.
The class meets as scheduled. The cost of the class is $15.00.

| CHILDBIRTH PREPARATION CLASSES |
The Childbirth Education Classes are taught by Certified Childbirth Educators, this class follows the Lamaze method of childbirth preparation and will help you learn about breathing and relaxation techniques. Participants will also learn how to recognize and cope with each stage of labor and various options for pain relief.
The class is offered one night per week for a five week period. The cost of the class is $60 if delivering at Heywood and $95 is delivering elsewhere.

| CHILDBIRTH PREPARATION REFRESHER CLASS |
This class is for those of you with previous childbirth experience. The class is offered on one evening to review breathing and relaxation techniques, signs of labor and various other topics including sibling preparation. The cost of the class is $40 if delivering at Heywood and $55 if delivering elsewhere.

| INFANT / CHILD SAFETY & CPR CLASS |
Before your baby arrives, include in your safety planning our Infant/Child Safety &CPR Class. This class is recommended for parents, grandparents, and anyone caring for an infant or toddler. This program will teach participants how to prevent injuries, basic first aid, and the proper procedure for assisting a child who is choking or unconscious.
The class is offered over a two-night period and the cost is $40 per couple or $30 per person.

| COMMUNITY BIRTH LOSS SUPPORT GROUP |
The Community Birth Loss Support Group is designed for parents who have experienced a miscarriage, stillbirth or the death of a newborn. Often times society does not understand the depth of feelings parents experience after infant loss. The support group is a collaborative effort between Heywood Hospital, Memorial Health Care, HealthAlliance and Milford-Whitinsville regional hospitals - sharing resources and providing support, understanding and acceptance of bereaved families
The support group meets on the first Thursday of every month from 7:00pm - 8:30pm in the Medical Arts Building Conference Room.
