What is GHAP?

The Gateway Health Access Program helps uninsured people access affordable healthcare by connecting people to existing healthcare programs such as MassHealth, providing reduced-fee care for those who do not qualify for existing programs. This care is provided by a network of healthcare providers throughout the region. These reduced fees are payment in full and are not subsidized in any way.

Mission Statement

The Gateway Health Access Program is a regional partnership of dentists, physicians, hospitals, community agencies, and area residents working to improve the health and well-being of our communities by increasing access for the uninsured to coordinated systems of care. GHAP strives to achieve this goal through outreach, education, empowerment, and self-accountability for those we serve.

Who We Serve

How Can I Get Help From The GHAP Program?

Call the GHAP location nearest you to speak with a representative who will determine your best available healthcare option. An appointment will be scheduled for you to complete an application. GHAP works hand-in-hand with the Massachusetts Uncompensated Care Pool and services are subject to income eligibility. Therefore, you will need to provide proof of Massachusetts residency and proof of income. As a GHAP member, you must have a GHAP-participating Primary Care Physician. Once enrolled in GHAP an ID card will be issued, which must be presented with payment at each office visit. Membership expires one year from your approval date or when you secure health insurance.
