Joint Replacement School
Helping You Return to an Active Lifestyle
For those who may be having Total Hip Replacement Surgery or Total Knee Replacement Surgery-- this program can help you prepare for surgery, recovery and life after joint replacement.
Adults who are contemplating the need for total hip or total knee replacement surgery are invited to come to school – Joint Replacement School – at Heywood Hospital beginning in August, 2011.
Heywood is offering special informational sessions with an Orthopedic Surgeon, Nurse, Physical Therapist and Occupational Therapist on the second Wednesday of every month beginning on Wednesday, August 10. Refreshments and registration will take place from 5:30-6:00pm and the program from 6:00-7:00pm in the Heywood Hospital Dining Room A. Subsequent dates include September 14, October 12, November 9 and December 14, 2011.
The sessions are entitled “Joint Replacement School” because they are comprehensive educational programs designed to prepare patients for what Joint Replacement surgery is like, the recovery process and life after joint replacement. Whether you are contemplating the need for surgery, or already have your surgery scheduled at Heywood or any other Hospital, this session can offer important information and resources to help you before and after your surgery.
The programs are free of charge and will offer free refreshments and take-home materials. For more information, or to register for an upcoming session, call (978) 630-6811.
