All are welcome to participate in this joyful day of gardening, community building, and learning to ‘plant the seeds’ for a therapeutic gardening program at Quabbin Retreat. Attendees will learn and gain new ideas for their homes while helping to create nourishing and meditative gardens for those in need of healing.
The program is run in partnership with Seeds of Solidarity, located in Orange, MA. Its mission is to awaken the power to grow food everywhere, transform hunger to health, and create resilient lives and communities. Founders Deb Habib and Ricky Baruc will lead these experiential workshops, sharing ample tips for gardening along the way!
Sign up for the morning session, afternoon session or both! Dress for hands on activity. Lunch will be provided at noon.
Spots are limited. Pre-register no later than May 1st by calling Heywood Healthcare’s Community Relations Department at (978) 630-6248 and indicate which session(s) you wish to attend.
The Quabbin Retreat offers a continuity of substance abuse and mental health care and will be completed in four phases, the first of which is the Dana Day Treatment Center, featuring intensive outpatient services, followed by the creation of an adult residential substance abuse center, slated for the fall of 2017. For more information contact Brian Gordon, LMHC, at (978) 724-0010 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
This garden project is funded through a grant from the Heywood Healthcare Charitable Foundation.
