A results-oriented facilities professional, Michael D. Grimmer is Vice President for Support Services and Chief Administrative Officer at Heywood Hospital. Mr. Grimmer brings a strong commitment to providing quality support services, facilities management and operations management to his leadership role at the hospital.
Prior to Heywood, Mr. Grimmer served as Vice President, System Engineer and Support Services Officer at St. Mary’s Health System in Lewiston, ME for 16 years. In this role, he was responsible for the management of all facility services, supporting a multi-campus healthcare organization. Previously, he was Manager of Engineering Services at Northwestern General Hospital in Toronto, Canada.
A mechanical engineer with a professional engineering designation, Mr. Grimmer is experienced in bringing large construction projects to fruition on-time and on-budget. His specialization in cutting-edge environmental practices has earned him appointments to the Boston Green Ribbon Commission (2010-2011).
As Vice President for Support Services and Chief Administrative Officer at Heywood, Mr. Grimmer is responsible for the management of all facility services supporting the hospital, including facilities management, and environmental and food services. In addition, he oversees Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech, Pharmacy and the Wound Center.
Mr. Grimmer earned a Bachelor of Science degree from University of New Brunswick, Canada, a Certificate in Healthcare Administration from University of Southern Maine and is pursuing his Masters degree in Business Administration. He is a member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering and the American College of Healthcare Executives.
